Fewer objectives are included in relation to Sligo Town, for which a Local Area Plan must be prepared following the adoption of this Development Plan.
Chapter 10 - Urban development principles sets out a policy framework to guide the sustainable development of Sligo’s towns and villages through:
- urban regeneration, with a focus on town centres;
- heritage-led regeneration including the maintenance of the character of historic streetscapes;
- place-making and public realm improvements;
- the compact growth of urban areas;
- strategic designations and zoning objectives
The policies and objectives contained in this chapter are applicable to all settlements in County Sligo.
