The Second Chief Executive’s Report on submissions and observations relating to the Draft Sligo CDP 2024-2030 was submitted to the elected members on 22 March 2024.

Draft Sligo County Development Plan

2024-2030

 

Sligo County Council has prepared a Draft Sligo County Development Plan (CDP) for the period 2024–2030 in accordance with Section 12 of the Planning and Development Act 2000 (as amended).

The Plan sets out an overall strategy for the proper planning and sustainable development of County Sligo.  It addresses various issues such as the creation of sustainable communities, economic development, transport, energy, sustainable use of natural resources, protection of the environment and adaptation to climate change.

The Draft Plan is available for you to view in full on this consultation portal. Written submissions or observations regarding the Draft Development Plan may be made to the Planning Authority from 13 October to 22 December 2023 (see below).

The Draft Sligo County Development Plan (CDP) consists of four volumes:

Volume 1 – Core Strategy

Volume 2 – Urban Development

Volume 3 – General Policies 

Volume 4 – Village Plans

There are 9 Appendices to the Draft Plan. The Landscape Character Assessment Map (A1 format) is also part of the Draft Plan. 

The Draft Plan is accompanied by the following documents:

  • Environmental Assessments
    • Environmental Report - Strategic Environmental Assessment
    • Natura Impact Report - Appropriate Assessment
    • Strategic Flood Risk Assessment
  • Housing Strategy 
  • Draft Sligo Local Transport Plan
  • Wine Street Car Park Masterplan

Submissions

Written submissions or observation regarding the Draft Development Plan and associated documents may be made to the Planning Authority from 13 October to 22 December 2023.

Submissions  can be made by clicking on “Make a submission” (top right of this screen).

All submissions will be redacted if necessary (to comply with GDPR) and made available for public viewing on this portal.

Submissions will be accepted until 4 pm on 22 December 2023. Late submissions will not be taken into consideration.
