NOTICE UNDER THE LOCAL GOVERNMENT (PLANNING AND DEVELOPMENT REGULATIONS 2001, PART 8 (ARTICLE 81) (AS AMENDED)

Notice is hereby given that Sligo County Council proposes to carry out works consisting of new paving and public realm works at Stephen Street, Holborn Street, Rockwood Parade, Water Lane and Tobergal Lane. The proposed works include the following:
  1. Alterations to existing road widths;
  2. New carriageway surfacing;
  3. New footpath paving and kerbs;
  4. Traffic calming measures;
  5. New hard landscaping including benches and planters;
  6. Planting of trees, shrubs and ornamental planting;
  7. All associated site development works.

Sligo County Council has concluded from a preliminary examination, that there is no real likelihood of significant effects on the environment arising from the proposed development and that an Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) is not required. Any person may, within 4 weeks from the date of this notice, apply to An Bord Pleanála for a screening determination as to whether the proposed development would be likely to have significant effects on the environment (ie. requires an EIA).

The proposed development is located in the vicinity of several protected structures and an Architectural Conservation Area.

Plans and full particulars of the proposed development are available for inspection, or purchase at a fee not exceeding the reasonable cost of making a copy, on line at consult.sligococo.ie or may be viewed at City Hall, Quay Street, Sligo from Thursday 3rd December to Monday 11th January 2021 (both dates inclusive). 

COVID-19 Protocols will be in place in terms of social distancing and self-sanitizing procedures before and following any review of the documents on display.

Submissions or observations with respect to the proposed development, dealing with the proper planning and sustainable development of the area in which the development would be situated, may be made on-line by registering on the consult.sligococo.ie portal or in writing and submitted to the undersigned not later than 4.pm on Tuesday 26th January 2021.
