The scheme starts at the Rugby Club, continues West along the R292, joins with the R277 (Burmah Road) and finishes along shore Road, in the Townlands of Larass or Strandhill Td., Killaspugbrone Td., & Carrowbunnaun Td.
The objective of the scheme is to create a dedicated, pedestrian and cyclist link in Strandhill.
The works involved are as follows:
Construction of a 2m wide footpath and 2m wide cycle track and improve street landscape.
New road markings and traffic signage.
Remove the existing utility poles and overhead wires.
Provide and construct underground utility network.
Upgrade & extend existing surface water drainage network.
Provide new public lighting along the length of the scheme.
Provision of pedestrian crossing facilities along the route.
Associated site development works & services.
