Sligo County Council in exercise of the powers conferred on it under Section 38 of the Road Traffic Act, 1994 hereby gives notice that it has prepared a Scheme for the provision of Active Travel Scheme at the following location:
Cleveragh Drive, Sligo Town – In the interests of road safety and convenience for all road users, Sligo County Council is proposing to introduce an Active Travel Scheme along Cleveragh Drive from the Regional Sports Complex to the Junction of Cleveragh Road / Tonaphubble Drive other works will include road traffic calming measures. The scheme provides for 2-way cycle lane, a raised uncontrolled crossing, a raised controlled crossing, tactile paving, increased footway width, tightened junction layout, tightened road layout and associated engineering works.
Plans and particulars of the Scheme are shown on Drawing Numbers AT-TS-007-00 to AT-TS-007-15. These drawing are available to view on Sligo County Council’s website: https://consult.sligococo.ie/
Representations in relation to the proposed Schemes may be made in writing to the Sligo Regional Design Office through the following two options only:
In writing by post to the address below: Sligo County Council, Active Travel Team, Road Design, Riverside, F91 A7KC.
Submissions must be received no later than 5.00 pm on Friday 15th August 2025.
NOTE:
All comments, including the names of those making comments, submitted to the Council in regard to this Traffic Calming Scheme will form part of the statutory report to be presented to the monthly meeting of Sligo County Council.
Accordingly, the statutory report will list the persons or bodies who made submissions or observations with respect to the proposed Traffic Calming Scheme in accordance with the regulations of the Road Traffic Act 1994.The submissions will also be included in the minutes of that meeting and consequently will appear on the Council’s Website. By making a submission the name of individual or bodies will appear on the statutory report and minutes of the meeting.
