In accordance with the provisions of Section 38 of the Road Traffic Act 1994 and Section 46 of the Public Transport Regulation Act, 2009, having considered the submissions made during public consultation, Sligo County Council hereby gives notice of its decision to implement Traffic Calming Measures at the Junction of N17 and L6108 Ballincarrow Village, for the N17 Ballincarrow Road Safety Improvement Scheme without modifications. A post consultation report is provided with this notice.
The proposed Traffic Calming Measures will provide an uncontrolled pedestrian facility for vulnerable road users crossing the L6108 Local Road in Ballinacarrow to access the existing public bus stop and school. The tightening of the existing junction will reduce the speed of vehicles in the vicinity of the crossing. This uncontrolled crossing will tie in with future improvement works in Ballinacarrow which may include provision of improved bus stop facilities in the village funded by the NTA.
